Hotels in Wellington
The capital of New Zealand, located in the southern part of the North Island, is the country’s third most important city, after Auckland and Christchurch. The unique thing about Greater Wellington is that it not only encompasses the urban area, but also includes the surrounding regions, from Kapiti Coast and the Rimutaka Range to Wairarapa.
Wellington is a major centre of finance and culture. In the city, you can visit the Te Papa Museum, dedicated to Maori culture. Other significant points of cultural interest in the city are the ballet, the symphony orchestra and the film production studios.
From the port, you can take a pleasant stroll to Jervois Quay, visit the Parliament Grounds or take the cable car in Lambton Quay and visit Kelburn Lookout, where the views are magnificent.
Parks and gardens are part and parcel of New Zealand, and parks like the gardens near the bay are an ideal place to relax and let go: 26 hectares with a spectacular rose garden that you can visit from November through April, along with some of New Zealand’s most unusual trees.
